Comparison of 28 Days Later and An American Wolf In London Horror Genre

The Horror genre is very popular at the moment and in fact its been popular for years and most likely will be for years to come. Millions of people love the sense of being scared and this is what makes this genre so popular. The two films are very different because they were released at different time 28 Days later was released in November 1st 2002 and An American Wolf In London was released in August  21st 1981 so already you know they are going to be different. Technology has grown immensely over the years so 28 Days Later will have a lot more then An American wolf In London but nevertheless it doesn't mean it will be better. The two films are about completely different things 28 Days Later is about zombies and An American Wolf is about a werewolf.

An American Wolf In London starts by two young men going to the English countryside for a Holiday and things are not quite what it seems, and they soon find that out when the get attacked by a were wolf and one man dies and the other now is a werewolf. You can tell right from the begging that this is going to be a horror the darkness, loneliness and blood these are all very typical of a horror genre. They also uses symbols that relate to the film like the full moon and everyone knows that this symbolizes werewolf's they also uses a five pointed start and candles to show that the local villagers are trying to ward off something.

28 Days Later starts a bit more graphic, you can tell this is a horror straight away because it begins in a laboratory with monkeys that have been infected with something and has made them full of rage. It doesn't take long for someone to open the cage and the monkeys start attacking people. This film has a lot more blood violence and is very graphic for some people. This is a typical horror convention and both films are very different but have grasped the horror genre differently but they are both very effective.
